Building Height
When we talk pole barn building height, we mean the measurement from the top of the concrete to the bottom of the trusses. For example, a 12 foot building will have a full 12 foot clearance from the top of the concrete floor to the bottom chord of the trusses.
A good rule of thumb is that your building height should be 2 feet taller than the overhead door clearance you need. So, if you need an 12 foot tall overhead door, you’ll need a 14 foot tall building to allow for overhead door clearance.
